Translation: Give Thanks unto the Lord for He is good, His mercy forever endures.  Give Thanks to the Lord for He is good, His mercy forever endures.  Give thanks, give thanks, give thanks, give thanks. Give Thanks unto the Lord for He is good!  Give thanks, give thanks, give thanks, give thanks.  Give thanks unto the Lord for He is good!
(from Psalm 107:1)

-

Psalm 136

Give thanks to Adonai, for he is good,
for his grace continues forever.

Give thanks to the God of gods,
for his grace continues forever.

Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his grace continues forever;

to him who alone has done great wonders,
for his grace continues forever;

 to him who skillfully made the heavens,
for his grace continues forever; to him who spread out the earth on the water,
for his grace continues forever;
 to him who made the great lights,
for his grace continues forever;
the sun to rule the day,
for his grace continues forever;
 the moon and stars to rule the night,
for his grace continues forever;

 to him who struck down Egypt’s firstborn,
for his grace continues forever;
 and brought Isra’el out from among them,
for his grace continues forever;
 with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm,
for his grace continues forever;

 to him who split apart the Sea of Suf,
for his grace continues forever;
 and made Isra’el cross right through it,
for his grace continues forever;
 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Sea of Suf,
for his grace continues forever;

 to him who led his people through the desert,
for his grace continues forever;
 to him who struck down great kings,
for his grace continues forever;
 yes, he slaughtered powerful kings,
for his grace continues forever;
 Sichon king of the Emori,
for his grace continues forever;
and ‘Og king of Bashan,
for his grace continues forever;

then he gave their land as a heritage,
for his grace continues forever;
 to be possessed by Isra’el his servant,
for his grace continues forever;

 who remembers us whenever we are brought low,
for his grace continues forever;
 and rescues us from our enemies,
for his grace continues forever;

 who provides food for every living creature,
for his grace continues forever.

 Give thanks to the God of heaven,
for his grace continues forever.

Crochet: Beehive Baby Blanket

 “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb,
  sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
-Proverbs 16:24

Last month I finally finished a baby blanket that took forever to make!!  I would have finished it much sooner had I worked on it during the summer, but nevertheless single crochet speed takes awhile to grow into a blanket!  I'm really glad how this turned out for my friend's babies who's husband is a bee farmer! :)  Also the yellow helps so the blanket can be for either a boy or girl!!

Details~
Stitches: Cluster Singe Crochet and Shell
Yarn: Caron Simply Soft, Sunshine
Gauge: I'm lazy...  I decide my own gauge. :)  I crochet looser then most, but this was more tight, but flexible.
Hook: I usually use whatever feels most comfortable in my hand!! I believe I used a 5.5 size with Susan Bates-- the best hooks ever!
Amount: I ended up using about 5.5 skeins of yarn.

 A white ribbon made the perfect touch to finish the gift!!

I was told that I would have to use two skeins of Caron Simply Soft yarn at once, but I found that I could easily use just one!  That saved on cost and the Cluster stitch (sometimes called Popcorn stitch) with single crochet is a very hardy stitch.  I'm sure the blanket will last many years to come!

I went back and forth between a zig-zag border and the shell stitch.  My grandma recommended doing the shell stitch and I'm glad I did~ it's perfect!  First I did a border of single crochet all around and then ended with the shell stitch.  I love how it turned out!

My next project....  which is actually my current project is a Granny Square Blanket for an adult.  I'm nearly done with it so I'll be posting pictures here as soon as I am!!

Happy Crocheting!!

Book Look Bloggers Review: Best Hair Book Ever

Details: This book is super cute for younger girls who need some hair inspiration ideas or want their big sisters to style their hair!  Complete with eight different hair styling categories, large colored pictures of hair styles and tons- I mean it TONS of hair information!

Pros: The instructions are very detailed and the pictures are colorful and explicit.  This book is certainly an eye catcher!

Cons: The paper shouldn't really be around liquids which could present a problem with doing hair. :) Also it would be nice it it was spiral bound to stay open well during styling.

Conclusion:  Weighing the pros and cons I would give this book 3 stars.  I know my little sisters are going to LOVE this book!

Disclaimer: I received this book free for review.  All thoughts are my own.
